A Plettenberg Bay bed
and breakfast otherwise know as The Whaling Station
Bed & Breakfast takes its name from Plettenberg
Bay history and is situated on the Plettenberg
Bay Lagoon.
In 1912 a whaling station was established and
operated for less than a decade. Today you can
view these magnificent creatures basking in the
warm waters of Plettenberg bay from our lookout
deck.
Situated on seven acres with fynbos indigenous
to the garden route, The Whaling Station Bed &
Breakfast is ideally positioned to enjoy the peace
and excitement of Plettenberg Bay with its wide
variety of activities.
A five minute canoe trip from the front of the
property across the Plettenberg Bay lagoon will
take you to the largest and most exclusive Plettenberg
Bay beach – accessible only by boat.
Or just relax in the sun around the swimming pool
letting the beauty of the Plettenberg Bay view
and tranquil sounds of the ocean and lagoon and
soothe your soul.
As the gold light of the evening sun sets over
the ocean, our guests are welomce to enjoy refreshing
sundowners under the thatched lapa and savour
the delightful aromas and tastes of a traditional
South African barbeque as enjoyed for many years
on the garden route.
In the morning you can lie in, and revel in the
serene beauty of extensive views of Plettenberg
Bay. The family suites each have a full bathroom
with private atriums.
